Fifth graders from across the Reynolds district explored the world of agriculture at A.C. Reynolds High School’s annual Ag Day event. The campus was alive with excitement as students met horses, goats, pigs, and chickens - many for the first time.
Hosted by the ACRHS Agricultural Program, the event gave elementary students a hands-on introduction to farm life and many career pathways agriculture can offer. From petting animals to playing agricultural-themed games, students were fully immersed in the experience.
Throughout the stations, experts shared insights about livestock care, farming equipment, and sustainable practices. One of the biggest highlights was a live welding demonstration, sparking interest in skilled trades and the science behind agriculture. Students also had the thrill of climbing into the seat of a real tractor, a moment many won’t forget.
The goal of Ag Day was to inspire curiosity and foster appreciation for agriculture among the younger generation - a mission that was clearly accomplished as the fields echoed with laughter, questions, and wide-eyed wonder.
