Hello Oakley Families!

I am Roxanne Skenandore.  School Social Work is a specialized area of practice within the broad field of social work.  In North Carolina, School Social Workers are licensed through the Department of Public Instruction. School Social workers provide the link between students, families, the school, and community. 

As your school social worker, I collaborate with students, parents/guardians, teachers and school staff, as well as community agencies to help remove barriers that interfere with student success and help ensure that each student is successful both personally and academically.  My role includes addressing issues around attendance, behavioral health concerns, social emotional concerns, and resources/needs; and linking families to community resources and providers.
