Buncombe County Schools Meals Distribution Sites
Free breakfast and lunch for all Buncombe County School students.

Reynolds District:

  • This is available in the car rider line at Oakley Elementary School.

  • Breakfast is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

  • BCS Buses will be delivering bag lunches and breakfast meals 

  • Monday thru Friday, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

  • At the following locations: Ledgewood Village, Eastview, Spruce Hill, Curci Circle (Reynolds MH Park), Shiloh Center, Fairview Elementary.

Other Locations Providing Meals:

  • White Duck Taco Shop- One free regular priced taco for school aged children per day. (Monday through Friday lunch or dinner). 1 Roberts Street, Asheville, NC 28801, 828-258-1660.

  • Baked Pie Company- Free bagged lunch, Tuesday through Saturday (PBJ sandwich, apple, white milk, and cookie) 10 AM to 8 PM at both locations- 4 Long Shoals Road, Arden, NC 828-333-4366 and Woodfin, 828-210-9544

  • Biscuit Head - One free biscuit per school aged child each day schools are closed beginning 3.16.2020

  • Fuddruckers Asheville - Get one free kid's meal with purchase of adult meal Mon-Fri all day - Take out included

  • El Charro - Free kids meal once a day from 3/16-3/27. Voucher sheets are available at the register - temporary curbside service also available - 1788 Hendersonville Rd 28803

  • Strada Italiano - free slice of pizza during lunch service for school aged children 27 Broadway Street Asheville

  • Ay Caramba - East Asheville Fariview Road - one free kids meal for children under the age of 10 until 3.30.2020

  • Montmorenci UMC - Monday evenings 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. - boxed hot meals

  • Bounty & Soul- hosting drive through pick up sites of pre-made food boxes. No cost and no eligibility. Tuesdays from 11am-1pm at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Black Mountain and Fridays from 4pm-6pm at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church.

  • St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry: 109 Crescent Hill Dr., Arden. Thursdays 11:00am-2:00pm

  • Montmorenci UMC: Thursdays 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Beginning Monday, March 16th, YMCA will hand out pre-packaged bags at the market for pick up. You can pick up a bag between normal mobile market operating hours. This is a temporary change. Distributions are FREE and open to ALL and at all locations.

March 27, 2020- Governor Roy Cooper announced today that parents who need food assistance for their children can text FOODNC to 877-877 to locate nearby free meal sites. The texting service is also available in Spanish by texting COMIDA to 877-877.

BCS Family Resource Center is for ALL of our students.  Family needs: food boxes, daily school nutrition deliveries, hygiene items, diapers, wipes, school supplies, please submit the request form.  Our BCS staff will provide a home delivery within 1-2 days following request submitted.
