General Medical Information

If your student has a chronic health condition or you have specific questions or concerns, contact Lina Lam, BSN, RN, our school nurse for Oakley at 828-708-5328.  

Wondering if your child is sick enough to stay home? School attendance is important, even if your child has a minor illness such as a cold or headache. However, please keep them at home as directed in our exclusion criteria if they have a more severe illness.

School Exclusion Criteria

We encourage medications to be given at home if possible. However, if your child needs prescription or over-the-counter medications administered during the school day, a medication administration form must be completed by your child's doctor and medications must be checked in at the school office.
