As Oakley Elementary prepares to celebrate 100 years next year, Dr. Rob Jackson spent time getting to know these Might Oaks as part of his 45 schools in 45 days visit. Oakley provides students with a safe learning environment with engaging, hands-on activities. Their students are the OAKS - "On task, Acting safe, Kind kids, and Student leaders." The school uses PBIS and Leader In Me as pillars to provide a Compassionate School model to students and the community. These programs provide a strong framework for students and teachers to accomplish academic goals and to help each student find the leader within themself.
“We embrace our school's diverse learning environment,” said Principal Dana Haney. “We have a very successful dual language program. We offer many clubs, events, tutoring, field trips, and after-school options for our students. Our staff thinks outside of the box to meet the needs of the whole child. Our school staff is caring and goes above and beyond to support our students. Our school has many community partners that support our staff and students to help meet the needs of our students in order to help learning take place.”
Oakley Elementary has been established by dedicated faculty, staff, and community members who are committed to developing our students into confident, thoughtful learners and leaders of today and tomorrow.
