Brandon, Lisa (EC)

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Lisa Brandon. I have lived in Asheville my entire life. I attended AC Reynolds High School. After high school I graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. Degree in K-12 Special Education. I have two grown children. My son is twenty-six and is living in Arizona, attending classes in the Army. My daughter is twenty-five and has a baking and pastry degree from A-B Tech.
I have always wanted to work with special needs children. The first time I can remember wanting to work with special needs children was when I found out my cousin was born with a rare disorder and passed away at the age of twenty-six. I can remember playing with him when I was little and how much fun that was.
I have been teaching children with special needs for twenty-eight years, all here in Buncombe County. My goal in life is to make a difference in my student's lives. I have taught many students and love to see them out in the community. It thrills me to hear my name called from far away through the parking lot or at Wal-Mart or just wherever, and to see them running towards me just to give me a hug and inform me on how their life is going. I love working with all of my students, and I have enjoyed a long career doing exactly what I was called to do.
