Welcome to our Classroom
Welcome to Mrs. Bermingham's 2nd grade--dual language class!
I am really excited to be your child's teacher this year. This is my 3rd year at Oakley Elementary. I was a kindergarten teacher in Henderson County, at Mills River School, for nine years. I live in the Oakley neighborhood and so I am happy to be working so close to home! I am looking forward to teaching 2nd grade again this year!
A little bit about me:
I was born in San Juan, PR but my family is of Cuban descent. Spanish was my first language and I lived in Puerto Rico till the age of 7. I then moved to West Palm Beach, FL and lived there until I graduated from high school.
I studied at Florida State University where I received a bachelor's in Art Education and a master's in Early Childhood Education. In 2009, I also became a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Education.
I am married to Brian Bermingham and have two sweet little girls who are almost 2 and a half years apart.
